Eat Smart! Follow the Food Pyramid!
We appreciate Miss Mandy Ho from CUHK, who gave us a Health Food Talk on December 1, 2006 , highlighting the importance of the Food Guide Pyramid and Nutrition Labels for children aged 6-12.
All of us are aware of the fact that the degree of our well-being is associated with our eating habits as well as our lifestyle. As parents, we all want our children to have a healthy life. A balanced diet, composed of adequate amounts of variety of food, supplies us with the energy and nutrition we need to maintain our body cells, various tissues and internal organs. In addition, a balanced diet also supports optimal growth and development; promotes normal body functions; and prevents diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity.
